Najpiękniejsza poznańska nekropolia

Kaplica cmentarna na poznańskim Cmentarzu Zasłużonych Wielkopolan

W piękny jesienny dzień wybrałem się na Cmentarz Zasłużonych Wielkopolan mieszczący się w Poznaniu na Wzgórzu Św. Wojciecha, u zbiegu ulic Święty Wojciech i Księcia Józefa.

Spacer po tej położonej w bardzo malowniczym i zadrzewionym zakątku nekropolii to jedno z moich najpiękniejszych przeżyć tej jesieni. Czułem się tak jak gdybym dotykał historii - na cmentarzu tym pochowano bowiem wielu naprawdę zasłużonych dla naszego miasta i regionu ludzi. Przyjemnie spacerowało się po tej nekropolii o urozmaiconej rzeźbie terenu. Wśród opadających liści i promieni jesiennego słońca podziwiałem mogiły tych którzy dla naszego miasta i naszej małej ojczyzny zrobili więcej niż zwykli śmiertelnicy. Warto przypomnieć, że nekropolia po której spacerowałem założona została na początku XIX wieku, jako cmentarz farny. Po II wojnie światowej fara otrzymała tereny przy ul. Grunwaldzkiej, zaś nekropolia na Wzgórzu zyskała miano Cmentarza Zasłużonych Wielkopolan. Cmentarz ten stał się miejscem ostatniego spoczynku wielu powstańców, naukowców, lekarzy, rzemieślników czy działaczy społecznych. Na cmentarzu tym pochowano m.in. Józefa Kosińskiego, Bolesława Krysiewicza, Józefa Łukaszewicza, Marcelego Mottego czy Jana Konstantego Żupańskiego.

Cmentarz zwiedzać można w godzinach 10:00 - 18:00.
